Pampa ISD Implements Texas DPS Guardian Program

Pampa ISD is now participating in the Texas DPS Guardian Program. Under the Guardian Program, a district can grant select employees who have completed the Guardian Program training requirements permission to carry firearms on campuses through an agreement. The Pampa ISD Board of Trustees and District Administration desires to ensure the safety of students, school personnel, and visitors by authorizing a limited number of qualified District employees (“Guardians”) to possess certain firearms on school property to provide an effective and timely response to an emergency situation that poses an immediate threat to serious bodily injury or death. All Guardians must complete extensive training and evaluation before being approved by the Board. 

All school entrances will have signs designating the campus as a Guardian Program campus.
