Anderson Scholarship winners-Shubh Doshi, Julissa Rivera, and Joseph Coronado with Superintendent Hugh Piatt and Dr. Abigayle Barton and PHS principal Clay Jones

The Eugene and Daniela Anderson Scholarship Foundation (ASF) has announced that graduating Pampa High School students Shubh Doshi, Julissa Rivera, and Joseph Coronado have been selected as the 2026 Anderson Scholars. Each student has been awarded a scholarship of $5,000 per year for up to four years.

Shubh Doshi has demonstrated exceptional dedication to academic excellence throughout his high school career. He ranks among the top students in his graduating class and has completed the rigorous requirements to earn an associate degree. Shubh has been actively involved as a Student Ambassador, a member of DECA, choir, and Students Against Destructive Decisions, while also competing in varsity tennis and basketball. His leadership, work ethic, and commitment to excellence have made a lasting impact on Pampa High School. He plans to attend Texas A&M University and major in Mechanical Engineering.

Julissa Rivera has distinguished herself through a strong commitment to academic achievement, leadership, and service. She has earned an associate degree while in high school and has received numerous academic honors, including recognition as Academic All-District and a place on the PHS Wall of Fame. Julissa has been involved in National Honor Society, Student Council, and Students Against Destructive Decisions, while competing in varsity soccer. She has also served as a Skills for Success peer tutor and earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification, working part-time in a nursing home. She plans to attend The University of Texas at Austin and pursue a degree in Nursing.

Joseph Coronado has made a strong impact through leadership, determination, and commitment both in the classroom and in competition. He has served in leadership roles in National Honor Society and Student Council and has been actively involved as a Student Ambassador. Joseph has earned an AP Award and has been recognized as a Regional Qualifier in athletics. His involvement in Student Council, Students Against Destructive Decisions, and varsity wrestling reflects his dedication to excellence and service. He plans to attend Texas A&M University and pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Anderson Scholars who have recently graduated or will graduate in May 2026, include Luis Martinez (Business Administration), West Texas A & M University, Benjamin Langford (Computer Engineering) Texas A & M University. Anderson Scholars who are continuing their studies include: Claire Simpson (engineering) at Texas A & M University, Rico Reyes (aerospace engineering) Texas A & M University, Rebekka Ruzvidzo (merchandising) at Baylor University, Riley Coble (Mechanical Engineering) at West Texas A & M University, and Jose Lerma Montes (Political Science / Pre-Law) at Texas Tech University.

The Eugene and Daniela Anderson Scholarship Foundation was established in 2000 to assist students in obtaining a higher education. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than 80 scholarships valued at over $1.5 million. In 2021, the Foundation was entrusted to Pampa ISD to manage, continuing its mission to support Pampa High School students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, community involvement, and financial need.

The late Eugene (Gene) Anderson, a 1956 graduate of Pampa High School and member of the PHS Hall of Fame, founded the scholarship. His legacy continues to impact generations of students by providing opportunities for higher education and future success.
