PAMPA, Texas — Pampa Independent School District is proud to announce Dr. William “Bill” Campaigne, Class of 1965, and Melanie Warner, Class of 1987, as the newest inductees into the Pampa High School Harvester Hall of Fame.
The Harvester Hall of Fame recognizes Pampa High School graduates whose accomplishments, leadership and contributions reflect the tradition of excellence associated with Pampa High School. Campaigne and Warner will be honored during Pampa High School’s 2026 Homecoming festivities September 24–25.
Dr. William “Bill” Campaigne — Class of 1965
Dr. William “Bill” Campaigne, a 1965 graduate of Pampa High School, has built a remarkable career combining veterinary medicine, research, education, military service and innovation. While at Pampa High School, Campaigne participated in football, track, Spanish Club and National Honor Society before continuing his education at Austin College.
Following college, Campaigne enlisted in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps and served in Vietnam, where he supervised the veterinary care of approximately 250 military dogs used for scouting, tracking and detecting mines and explosives. After his military service, he earned his doctorate from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1976.
Campaigne later became co-owner and veterinarian at Seguin Animal Hospital while also teaching physiology for decades at Texas Lutheran University. His professional career has included clinical trials for more than 70 veterinary pharmaceuticals, medical research, development of a Type 2 diabetic animal model, work supporting laparoscopic surgical research and cardiac stent research, and other contributions to veterinary science.
Among his innovations, Campaigne was awarded a United States patent for his work developing a highly effective rattlesnake vaccine, representing another significant contribution during a career devoted to animal health, research and service.
From the halls of Pampa High School to military service, veterinary medicine, higher education and medical research, Campaigne’s life and career exemplify the achievement, service and lifelong pursuit of excellence celebrated by the Harvester Hall of Fame.
Melanie Warner — Class of 1987
Melanie Warner, a Pampa native and 1987 graduate of Pampa High School, has built a career spanning more than four decades in media, publishing, entrepreneurship, television production and public speaking. Her journey in media began while she was still a student at Pampa High School, when, at just 15 years old, she began working as an on-air personality at KGRO Radio in Pampa, an opportunity she credits with helping launch her career.
After graduating from PHS, Warner pursued opportunities in acting and modeling in California before turning her attention to publishing and entrepreneurship. She went on to own and publish magazines, build production and media companies, and develop projects ranging from publications and books to television, commercials and other media. She later founded Defining Moments Press, a publishing company that helps authors and entrepreneurs transform their experiences and expertise into books and media platforms.
Warner is also a best-selling author, international speaker, media strategist and television producer. Her Defining Moments work grew from profound challenges in her own life and a desire to use personal stories to encourage and equip others. Through her publishing work, she has helped hundreds of aspiring authors bring their stories and expertise to a wider audience.
Her career has taken her from the radio studio in her hometown of Pampa to publishing and media ventures across the country and speaking engagements around the world. Her nomination packet highlights international speaking appearances, including events in India and at the United Nations, as well as recognition as Business Woman of the Year in Media & Entertainment at the Forttuna Global Excellence Awards in Dubai.
From her beginnings as a Pampa teenager with an early opportunity in radio to becoming an author, entrepreneur, publisher, producer and international speaker, Warner’s journey reflects the resilience, ambition and pursuit of excellence celebrated by the Harvester Hall of Fame.
