The Pampa Harvesters (0-5) hosted (9) Canadian on Friday for their final tune-up non-district game of the season. The event was also Homecoming for the Harvesters, with seniors Naya Gallegos and Ryan Resendiz being crowned Homecoming King and Queen in the pre-game festivities. While Canadian was as advertised, offensively outpacing Pampa 53-7, sophomore Colton Rose was a bright spot for the Harvesters.
The young running back tallied 160 yards and found paydirt on 23 carries.

Pampa-Native Andy Cavalier had his Wildcats fired up for his gridiron return to Pampa.
The Wildcats wasted little time getting on the board and building a lead, as the usually stout Pampa defense struggled to stop the Wildcats as their no-huddle offense propelled Canadian to a 19-0 lead in the first quarter with a cumulative 4:17 off the clock.
The Harvesters did move the sticks on their third possession of the game as Rose toted the ball with three carries and 11 yards. Two plays later, Rose moved the chains again with a 13-yard carry. In the second quarter. A pair of bad snaps hamstrung the Harvesters' drive, however, and Pampa was forced to punt.
Canadian extended their lead to 26-0 and the Harvesters had to take over at their own seven-yard line. Rose had a 14-yard carry to start the drive and give the Harvesters some breathing room to the 21-yard line. Pampa was unable to get another first down, and it led to a Harvester punt.
The Wildcats took a 40-0 lead as the teams went into the locker room at halftime.
The Harvesters’ offense struggled to move the ball in the third as Canadian added to the gap with a 53-0 lead.
Pampa avoided the shutout when at the 6:53 mark in the fourth quarter, Rose broke multiple tackles for a 61-yard touchdown run to put Pampa on the board. Junior Brayan Montelongo added the knock for the extra point, and it was 53-7 Canadian.
The Harvesters are on a bye week next week, where they will certainly welcome the rest to get healthy and regroup for a district run.
Their next game will be on Friday, Oct. 9 when they host the Hereford Whitefaces to open District action.
