The Pampa Lady Harvesters (15-10) earned another sweep on Tuesday when they knocked off Plainview (25-18, 25-21, 25-12) as non-district play starts to wane.

“Plainview was a team very similar to us, so for us to go in there and dominate like that was a great confidence boost going into district,” Head Coach Kaylee Samulowitz said. “That was the best we have played all season, so it's the perfect time for us to finally hit our stride.”

The win also served as another opportunity to work on the little things against a quality opponent.

“At this point we're just trying to fine tune our lineup options and continue perfecting our fundamentals,” Samulowitz said. “The girls have been working hard in practice and the weight room, so it's time for them to see that begin to pay off.”

Senior Olivia Owens had 23 kills, nine digs, one assist and four blocking assists.

“Olivia is such an incredible athlete,” Samulowitz said. “I put her in a fairly new to her position this year and she has handled it beautifully. She is such a strong blocker and hitter because of her quickness, and she is our most efficient server.

“She brought us back to win set two last night and her serving runs have kept us in so many games this season. Liv is also just such a fun and coachable kid and all of the girls love to be around her.”

The Lady Harvesters wrap up non-district play on Friday when they travel to Dalhart, game time is tentatively set at 5 p.m. After their game, they will watch the Harvesters take on Dalhart in football.

“We haven't played Dalhart yet this year but we saw them in summer league and have been at some of the same tournaments,” Samulowitz said. “I'm hoping we can continue our momentum from last night into a fun game on Friday in Dalhart before the football game. It should be a cool atmosphere to play on Friday night and I'm excited for the girls to experience that.”
