All of the Panhandle athletes who qualified for Regionals participated in a meet on Friday at West Texas A&M University. This meet is essentially a warmup practice meet for Regionals, which will take place in Lubbock on May 1-2.
The athletes who went from Pampa were Senior Parker Webb to compete in the shot put and discus, Junior Jace Jones to compete in shot put, and Senior Avery Ferguson to compete in the 100-meter and 400-meter Wheelchair dash.
Ferguson finished third in the 100-meter with a time of 21.26. In the 400-meter, he finished third with a time of 1:47.21.
Webb finished second in shot put with a personal record throw of 56’9.75.” Jones finished sixth with a throw of 48’9.”
Webb placed first in the discus with another personal record throw of 166’3.”
Ferguson, Webb, and Jones will now travel to Lubbock on May 1-2 for the Regional Track Meet hosted at Plains Capital Park / Lowrey Field. Good luck and safe travels to our track athletes!
