The Pampa Lady Harvesters (6-8, 8-18) played two games last week against the Randall Lady Raiders on Tuesday night in their final home game, and on Friday on the road against the #1 team in the state the Dumas Demonettes. Those games completed the regular season for the Lady Harvesters as they finished fifth in District with only the top four advancing to the UIL playoffs.
Randall Game
Senior Hallie Reynolds started the game in the circle for Pampa. She got the Lady Raiders out in the first inning without allowing any runs.
“I was incredibly proud of the performance by my team against Randall. We led for three innings, and truly only had one bad inning. We allowed four runs in the fourth, and then we were scratching our way back in after that. We had a late game run, and just didn't have time to fill the gap. Our defense has been gaining so much speed, and I'm beyond proud of the effort, and work we have been putting in,” Head Coach Denise Browning said.
Freshman Addi Bagwell had a two-out walk to put the first baserunner on for the Lady Harvesters in the bottom of the first. Sophomore Brooklyn Warren then smashed a two-run homer over the left field wall to score both of them. Bagwell also stole second and third during the at-bat. Junior Michelle Gallegos singled on a pop fly to right but was thrown out trying to advance to second to end the inning. Pampa led 2-0 after one.
Reynolds kept Randall off the board in the second and recorded a strikeout during the frame. Pampa went down in 1-2-3 order in their half of the second.
Reynolds shut down Randall in 1-2-3 order in the third.
Senior Ella Hudson had a one-out single on a grounder to left but that was all the action for Pampa in the bottom of the third.
The Lady Raider bats came alive in the top of the fourth. They were able to put together multiple hits and take the lead 4-2.
Freshman Emme Hill recorded a single on a hard grounder to left but that was the only action for the Lady Harvesters in the bottom of the fourth.
After several singles in a row, Randall took a 6-2 lead in the top of the fifth. Junior Payton Gowin came in to pitch and record the final out of the inning.
Pampa went down in 1-2-3 order in the fifth and the score remained Randall 6, Pampa 2.
Gowin recorded a strikeout for the second out of the sixth but Randall added to their lead with three more runs before the inning was over. Pampa trailed 9-2 heading to the bottom of the sixth.
After one out, Bagwell walked. Warren then singled on a grounder to shortstop. Gallegos smashed a double on a fly ball to center to plate Warren and Bagwell. Pampa trailed 9-4. Gowin walked but during her at-bat Gallegos came home to score on a wild pitch. Heading to the seventh and final frame, Pampa trailed 9-5.
Randall recorded a couple of walks but could not score in their half of the seventh. After a leadoff walk by Sophomore Claire Hall, Pampa could not score any runs. The Lady Harvesters ended up losing the game.
Final Score: Randall 9, Pampa 5
Stat Recap

Dumas Game
It was a tall task for the Lady Harvesters heading on the road to Dumas to face the #1 Demonettes. Dumas entered the game undefeated in district play and after already securing their third-straight District Championship.
Pampa went down in 1-2-3 order to begin the game. Dumas started off hot with an inside-the-park homerun. They had another two-run homer over the center field wall as well to take a 3-0 lead after the first inning.
Gallegos and Hill had back-to-back singles on a groundballs to center before Pampa’s threat in the second ended with Hill getting picked off at first.
Dumas added one more run in the second to lead 4-0.
Pampa went down in 1-2-3 order again in the third.
The Demonettes took a 9-0 lead after a sacrifice fly, an error, and another homer.
In the fourth, Pampa was sat down in 1-2-3 order.
Reynolds was able to get two strikeouts in the fourth and kept the score at 9-0 in favor of Dumas.
A leadoff walk by Gallegos was the only base runner for Pampa in the fifth.
Dumas had a couple of singles, an error, and then one more single to end the game via run-rule by getting the 10th run.
Final Score/5: Dumas 10, Pampa 0
“Our last game of the season we traveled to take on the #1 team in the state at Dumas. We knew that they would be very good at home, and they were. I was impressed with the way we never gave up, and we continued to battle against the odds. The wind was absolutely awful during this game, and that played a big role in our fielding not being as good as usual,” Browning said. “I am beyond proud of my team, and the strides we have made this season. To end up fifth place against a top five team in the state, and three very good Canyon schools is impressive after losing seven seniors. I cannot tell you how excited I am to continue to watch this program grow, and I'm very blessed to be the Head Coach of this program. Watch out! The future of this team is bright, and hungry.”
