Michelle Gallegos is #13 and a Junior First Baseman on the Lady Harvester softball team. She was 2-2 at the plate against Perryton with two RBIs, a walk, a run scored, and two stolen bases. She was 1-2 at the plate against Hereford with an RBI and a walk. She was 3-4 against Borger with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Here is what Lady Harvester Softball Head Coach Denise Browning had to say about Michelle:

“Michelle is someone that you can always count on. Not only is she a powerhouse at first base, but you can always count on her to make something happen at the plate. She is a great teammate, and an extremely hard worker. She is always the first one to make it to the field everyday for practice, or game day. I love her effort, and her work ethic. She has been so fun to watch this year.” Browning said.

Austin Hunt is #6 and a Freshman Shortstop on the Harvester Baseball Team. He kept the Harvesters in the game against Perryton on the mound with three-and-a-third innings pitched, allowing just one earned run and striking out four batters. He went 2-4 from the plate with a double, an RBI and a run scored in the game as well. He went 3-3 in the Hereford game with two doubles, two RBIs, two runs scored, and a stolen base. That game was also against the best pitcher in the district. In the Hereford game, he made plays all over on defense as well.

Here is what Harvester Baseball Head Coach Austin Samulowitz had to say about Austin:

“Austin has stepped into a tough role as a Freshman, playing Shortstop for the Varsity. We are extremely excited to have him for three more years. Austin brings a good attitude and competitive mindset to our team.” Samulowitz said.

Congratulations to Michelle and Austin on being what a great Harvester student-athlete is all about!
