The Pampa Harvesters recently competed in the Borger Bulldog Relays and the Canyon Invitational. First, the results from the Canyon Invitational this past weekend
Canyon Invitational:
The Pampa Harvesters track and field teams turned in a strong showing this week with multiple podium finishes, personal bests, and season-best marks across both the boys and girls squads.
Leading the way for the Harvesters was Junior Jace Jones, who captured first place in the shot put with a throw of 46-5, a new personal best. Senior Parker Webb followed closely behind, finishing second in the same event with a 45-8 season best. Webb also had an impressive performance in the discus, earning second place with a throw of 139-11.
Junior Ira Smith had one of the top overall performances of the meet for Pampa. Smith finished third in the 400 meters with a personal best time of 52.81, placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 40-1.75, and added an eighth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 19-7.5.
In the sprints, Junior Kairo Flores ran 11.76 in the 100 meters, while Junior Ryan Resendiz posted a personal best 12.07 and Sophomore Aiden Hammond recorded a personal best 12.64. Junior Gunter Thomas added a personal best of 24.05 in the 200 meters, while Junior Kaden Newton also set a personal best at 25.74.
The junior varsity sprint group also had several strong performances. Junior Ezra Robinson finished third with an impressive personal best time of 11.58 in the 100 meters. Junior Izarius Johns recorded a personal best 12.15, while Freshman Colton Rose ran 12.47 for a personal best as well.
In middle distance events, Junior Irving Acosta ran a personal best 2:31.10 in the 800 meters, while Junior Andrew Schantin set a personal best of 2:35.28 in the JV race. Senior Tate Leblanc posted a season best 5:24.21 in the 1600 meters.
The Harvesters also showed improvement in the field events across the board. Senior Clayton Ward threw a personal best 127-7 in the discus, while Junior Wakely Ogle recorded a season best 106-7. At the junior varsity level, Sophomore Kenneth Ryan posted a personal best 103-11 in the discus and 35-11 in the shot put.
Freshman Baron Hudson cleared 5-4 in the high jump for a personal best, while Freshman Carson McCarley recorded a personal best 8-6 in the pole vault.
On the girls side, Senior Avery Ferguson continued to impress in the wheelchair division, finishing second in both the 100 meters (22.39) and the 400 meters (1:47.63).
Sophomore Madilyn Paul led the Lady Harvesters in the sprints with a personal best 13.59 in the 100 meters and also competed in the triple jump where she finished fifth with a mark of 30-5.
Freshman Chanel Conley had a strong day in the junior varsity 100 meters, recording a personal best 13.55, while Freshman Alexis Porter ran a personal best 14.58 and Freshman Josie Fisher added a personal best 15.33.
In the 200 meters, Freshman Lindi Curtis posted a personal best time of 29.20, while Junior Emery Gomes recorded a personal best 29.64 in the JV race. Junior Emmah McDonough added a season best 1:07.24 in the 400 meters.
The Lady Harvester relay teams also competed well, with both the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams finishing fourth with times of 53.70 and 1:52.71 respectively.
In field events, Sophomore Aspen Alexander finished sixth in the shot put with a throw of 28-1 and eighth in the discus with a season best 59-5. Freshman Alexis Porter had an outstanding day in the junior varsity discus, earning third place with a personal best throw of 84-8.
The Lady Harvesters also found success in the pole vault as Freshman Lilyann Siirtola and Freshman Cameron Curtis both cleared 6-0 for personal bests, finishing first and second respectively in the junior varsity competition.
With multiple personal records and podium finishes, both the Harvesters and Lady Harvesters continue to show steady improvement as the track season progresses.
Now, for the Plainview Relays:
In the Varsity Boys 100 meters, Junior Kairo Flores finished 24th with a time of 12.08 seconds. Sophomore Aiden Hammond placed 39th with 12.90, while Junior Kaden Newton recorded a personal best 12.93 for 40th place.
In the Junior Varsity Boys 100 meters, Junior Ezra Robinson turned in a strong performance, finishing 2nd place with a time of 12.30 seconds. Junior Izarius Johns placed 11th with 12.80, while Freshman Colton Rose finished 16th with 13.02.
In the Wheelchair 100 meters, Senior Avery Ferguson claimed 1st place with a season best time of 22.34 seconds.
In the Varsity Boys 200 meters, Junior Gunter Thomas placed 13th with 24.85, while Junior Ryan Resendez finished 19th with a season best 25.35. Junior Kaden Newton recorded a time of 26.13 for 26th place.
In the Junior Varsity Boys 200 meters, Freshman Brody Alexander placed 22nd with 27.12, Freshman Carson McCarley recorded a personal best 27.87 for 33rd place, and Freshman Kevin Slater finished 41st with a personal best 29.23.
In the Varsity Boys 400 meters, Junior Ira Smith delivered a strong run, finishing 5th place with a time of 54.67 seconds. Senior Bryson Cooper placed 19th with a personal best 58.40.
In the Junior Varsity Boys 400 meters, Junior Ezra Robinson ran a personal best 59.38 to finish 9th, while Freshman Payton Pennington recorded a personal best 1:04.80 for 22nd place.
In the Wheelchair 400 meters, Senior Avery Ferguson captured 1st place with a season best time of 1:49.95.
In the Varsity Boys 800 meters, Senior Tate Le Blanc recorded a personal best 2:18.58 to finish 17th, while Junior Irving Acosta placed 27th with 2:33.72.
In the Varsity Boys 1600 meters, Senior Tate Le Blanc finished 19th with a personal best 5:25.03, while Junior Irving Acosta also recorded a personal best 5:54.84 for 27th place.
In the Junior Varsity Boys 300-meter hurdles, Junior Andrew Schantin ran a personal best 57.82 to finish 21st.
The Varsity Boys 4x200 relay team of Junior Ryan Resendez, Junior Gunter Thomas, Senior Jeremiah Davis, and Junior Kairo Flores finished 8th place with a time of 1:35.85.
In the Varsity Boys Shot Put, Junior Jace Jones finished 3rd place with a throw of 44'0.5", while Senior Parker Webb placed 5th with 43'2".
In the Varsity Boys Discus, Senior Parker Webb placed 3rd with a throw of 133'9".
In the Junior Varsity Boys Shot Put, Sophomore Kenneth Ryan finished 11th with 34'7.5", while Freshman Pedro Rios recorded a personal best 24'4.5" for 36th place.
In the Junior Varsity Boys Discus, Sophomore Kenneth Ryan placed 14th with 89'5", Sophomore Travis Williams finished 26th with 74'8", and Freshman Mason Mitchell placed 27th with 72'8".
In the Junior Varsity Boys High Jump, Freshmen Brody Alexander and Kevin Slater each cleared 4'6", both recording personal bests.
In the Junior Varsity Boys Pole Vault, Freshman Carson McCarley finished 3rd place clearing 8'0", while Sophomore Antawn Wright placed 4th clearing 7'6".
In the Varsity Boys Long Jump, Senior Jeremiah Davis placed 5th with a season best jump of 19'9". Junior Gunter Thomas finished 7th with a personal best 18'11.5", and Junior Ira Smith placed 9th with 18'9.5".
In the Junior Varsity Boys Long Jump, Junior Izarius Johns placed 5th with a personal best 16'10", while Freshman Colton Rose recorded a personal best 15'8.5" for 12th place.
In the Varsity Boys Triple Jump, Junior Ira Smith delivered an impressive 2nd place finish with a personal best jump of 40'2.5". Junior Ryan Resendez placed 7th with a season best 36'3.5", while Senior Tate Le Blanc recorded a personal best 33'5.5" for 11th place.
On the girls side, the Lady Harvesters also recorded several personal best performances.
In the Varsity Girls 100 meters, Freshman Lindi Curtis finished 16th with a personal best 14.08, while Sophomore Madilyn Paul placed 20th with 14.23.
In the Junior Varsity Girls 100 meters, Freshman Josie Fisher placed 27th with 16.39, while Sophomore Nayelie Garcia recorded a personal best 16.89 for 32nd place.
In the Varsity Girls 200 meters, Freshman Lindi Curtis placed 19th with 30.27, while Sophomore Madilyn Paul finished 22nd with a season best 30.48.
In the Junior Varsity Girls 400 meters, Freshman Anberlin Sanchez recorded a personal best 1:17.60 for 14th place, while Junior Isabelle Dressler finished 16th with a personal best 1:19.54.
In the Varsity Girls Shot Put, Sophomore Aspen Alexander placed 12th with a personal best throw of 28'8".
In the Varsity Girls Discus, Junior Tamblynn Moss placed 12th with a season best throw of 83'7", while Senior Haili Newton finished 23rd with a season best 63'5".
In the Junior Varsity Girls Discus, Freshman Alexis Porter finished 1st place with a throw of 75'10", while Freshman Berkleigh Cain placed 9th with 57'3".
In the Junior Varsity Girls High Jump, Junior Naya Gallegos cleared 4'2" for a personal best and finished 8th.
In the Varsity Girls Long Jump, Sophomore Madilyn Paul placed 13th with a season best jump of 14'0".
In the Varsity Girls Triple Jump, Sophomore Madilyn Paul finished 9th place with a season best jump of 30'6.5", while Sophomore Izzabella Kimbrell recorded a personal best 27'4" for 14th place.
