The Pampa High School Golf teams have been busy over the past couple of weeks with tournaments in Seminole, Childress, and Canadian. Here are recaps of those!

Seminole Tournament

The Varsity Harvester golf team traveled to Seminole and played at Gaines County Golf Course over the weekend. Junior Brady Smith placed 51st with a total score of 177. Senior Dayton Adams placed 87th with a total of 177. Senior Jayden Fossett tied for 35th posting a total score of 173.

“It was a solid performance despite the weather and it being a completely different course then what we're used to. Which is why we needed to play there. This course has so many doglegs that you have to use your entire bag to finish the round. It was a great test for us,” Head Coach Jason Burklow said.

Childress Tournament

The Pampa Harvester girls and the Junior Varsity boys traveled to Childress on Monday. Freshman Sailor Baldridge and Freshman Cameron Curtis continue to improve week to week. Both posted scores of a 112.

“This is five strokes better for Sailor and 13 strokes better for Cameron. These two just continue to impress me on how they are starting to consistently put good shots together,” Burklow said.

The JV boys placed sixth out of 11 teams at the Childress tournament. Senior Bryson Williams shot a team low 86. Junior Brycen Lewis shot 91. Senior Justin Chavez shot a season best 98. Sophomore John West shot a 100 and Freshman Landry Claassen shot a 121.

“These boys just continue to get better and better,” Burklow said.

Canadian Tournament

The Varsity Boys Golf Team traveled to Canadian on Tuesday to compete in the Canadian Golf Tournament.

Fossett placed third with a score of a 74, Smith took fourth with a 78, Senior Dace Scott shot a 91, Adams shot a 94, and Sophomore Dage Scott shot a 95. The Harvesters took second in overall team scoring.

“We are getting close to consistently putting up good scores as a team. This was a really good showing of how we took what we learned at Gaines County and applied it in Canadian,” Burklow said. “We have roughly two weeks of good practice time to work on our skills before the Amarillo Relays and District Golf. Trying to do our best at making our misses smaller and managing the course efficiently.”
