The Pampa golf teams continue to be busy with tournaments. Here are recaps from the girls’ tournament from Monday as well as the junior varsity boys on Wednesday. The varsity boys team will travel to Seminole for a tournament this weekend.
Pampa girls' golf traveled to Phillips municipal golf course in Borger Monday for the WT girls' tournament. It was a beautiful morning for golf. Freshman Sailor Baldridge and Freshman Cameron Curtis shot personal bests with Baldridge shooting a 117 and Curtis shooting a 125.
“Both Sailor and Cameron are beginning to show a little more consistency on the course, which is a testament of their work ethic at practice,” Head Coach Jason Burklow said.
JV Boys traveled to Ross Rogers golf course in Amarillo on Wednesday. The boys played a pretty solid round. Senior Bryson Williams and Junior Brycen Lewis shot their best rounds of the season, posting an 86 and an 88. Sophomore John West posted a best 96 and Senior Justin Chavez and Freshman Landry Claassen posted scores of 105 and 126.
Overall, the JV placed seventh out of 13 schools.
“I am seeing a lot of improvement from these boys from week to week. They are putting in the work, and it is starting to show,” Burklow said.
