The Pampa Lady Harvesters (5-11-1, 5-6-1) knocked off the Perryton Rangerettes 3-1 for their second straight win and the season sweep of their District 3-4A foe.
“This is the first time since I’ve been in Pampa we’ve swept anyone, and it has instilled a newfound confidence in the girls,” Head Coach Brennen McGinty said. “We are finally working the ball into good scoring position and taking high quality shots. The difference between this team is night and day from even a few weeks ago.”
Junior Kaylee Gamez had a goal assisted by Sophomore Yaelin Barraza, Aliyah Acosta had a goal assisted by Senior Zhalie Solis and Freshman Chloe’Ezmae Larrazolo had a goal also assisted by Solis.
“So many girls stood out,” McGinty said. “Aliyah and Zhalie played lights out. Kaylee as always was in the right spot every time. However, I’ll give Chloe some praise. She still has a long way to go, but she is actively becoming a better teammate with each game that passes by. She put a spark into our attack and finished off a free kick from Zhalie to ensure our victory. If she keeps maturing, she’s going to be a force in this district.”

The Lady Harvesters will host Randall on Friday with everything on the line. If the Lady Harvesters tie or beat Randall, they can still make the playoffs depending on Canyon.
“Stealing a point from Randall will be tough, but the girls are up to the challenge,” McGinty said. “I’m not worried about their confidence level. They believe in themselves and have overcome the odds time and time again.
“If you want to make the playoffs, you have to be willing to play the truly elite teams and not back down. Our field is our advantage since it’s more narrow and teams like Randall like to play the ball wide and cross it in. We just have to dig our heels in and play.”
