The Pampa Hustlin’ Harvesters (21-11, 7-5) clinched a playoff berth for the second straight season after their 63-50 win over the Dumas Demons Tuesday. Their playoff seed is set at the four seed, but now the Harvesters have the opportunity to continue their momentum in their final two regular season games. They will play Midland Greenwood on Feb. 23 or 24.

“Clinching a playoff berth for the second year in a row feels awesome,” Head Coach Braydon Barker said. “It makes the last two games of district much less stressful.

Although our playoff seed and matchup is already set, we still want to go out and play well these last 2 district games to prepare for the playoffs. The Harvesters were down 20-13 after the first quarter, and even trailed 32-28 at half.

But the Harvesters roared back in the second half, out-scoring Dumas 24-11 in the third quarter to take a 52-43 lead after three. The Harvesters held on and took the 63-50 win.

“I thought our post players played extremely well on Tuesday,” Barker said. “Especially in the second half. We are a really tough team to play against when we can score from all over the floor.”

The 10 seniors for the Pampa Harvesters now have a chance to return to the playoffs after making a deep run last year.

“I am proud of these seniors and how much work they have put in the last four years in this program,” Barker said. “I am glad that they are going to experience another playoff run in their last year of high school.”

The Harvesters returned to action on Friday when they traveled to Canyon. They will end the season on Tuesday at McNeely Fieldhouse against West Plains.

“We are going to use these last two games to fine tune some things we need to fix to try to make a deep playoff run again,” Barker said. “Canyon and West Plains are both playoff teams as well, so it will be a tough final two games heading into the playoffs.”
