The Pampa Harvester Boys Soccer (5-1, 7-3-3) team played three games recently against Hereford, Perryton, and Randall. They entered those games with a perfect district record. They won two of the three but dropped a surprise game to Perryton, mostly due to being down players. They beat Hereford 3-0 and Randall 4-0 while losing to Perryton 3-1. The team will hit the road the next two games with a game at Dumas on Friday the 13th and a game at Canyon on Tuesday the 17th.
Against Hereford, the Harvesters delivered a steady but slow performance, battling through stretches of low energy. Despite the sluggish start, they maintained control and found ways to finish. Senior Forward Ervin Torres led the attack with two goals and one assist. Senior Forward Victor de la Trinidad Gonzalez added another goal to secure the result. Strong finishing ultimately made the difference in the win.
Against Perryton on Saturday, the Harvesters were shorthanded, with several players out due to illness and others battling sickness during the match. The limited roster affected both the energy on the field and the intensity on the bench. As a team built on unity and support, the absence of nearly half the squad was noticeable. Despite the adversity, the group continued to compete and represent the program with effort.
Coming off a slow week, the Harvesters responded with a strong performance at home, earning a shutout victory over Randall. The team played with noticeable intensity and motivation from start to finish. Torres recorded a hat trick — impressive feat in soccer — and added an assist to cap off an outstanding night. Sophomore Center midfielder Brayan Montelongo sealed the win with the final goal of the match. It was a complete team effort and a statement performance on their home field.
