The Pampa Lady Harvester softball team opens up the 2026 season at home against Dalhart this afternoon at 4:30 P.M. on Lady Harvester Field. This also opens up the Head Coach Denise Browning era in Pampa. This will be your only chance to watch the team in Pampa until District play opens up March 6th! After tonight’s game, Pampa will head to Midland for the West Texas Classic February 19-21 and Iowa Park for another tournament February 26-28.

The Lady Harvesters had a couple of scrimmages to get the campaign started. How did Coach Browning feel about how those went?

“I am very happy with the way our girls played in the scrimmages. We went for our first scrimmage to Bushland, and they are always a great program. I am still missing quite a few of my varsity players due to basketball, so some of the girls are playing in new positions. I was incredibly proud of the fight and determination the girls showed in that scrimmage. We got out there with a bunch of heart and hustle. We then traveled to Tulia, and the girls played lights out. Our bats really came to life that game, and our fielders made a lot of great plays to take the win 9-1,” Browning said.

How are the girls approaching tonight’s game?

“We are really ready and focused on our home opener against Dalhart. Dalhart has had some very competitive teams in the last few years, and we are excited to see what we can do against them. Our focus this week has been tightening up our coverage, and making sure we are showing a strong appearance at the plate. We have been going strong everyday in practice, and we are already showing a lot of strides for this young team,” Browning said.

Again, you can catch the Lady Harvesters home opener against the Dalhart Lady Wolves at 4:30 P.M. this afternoon on Lady Harvester Field.
