The Lady Harvesters (1-4, 5-20) picked up their first district win of the 2025-26 season at home against Perryton on Friday night. Pampa led 15-13 after the first quarter. The game was tied 22 all at the half. The Lady Harvesters led 36-32 after three quarters. The final score was Pampa 46, Perryton 42.
“We got off to a great start, jumped out to an 11-3 lead early on. Our defense was stellar throughout. I thought we finally played a full, complete 32-minute ball game. We were flying around, defensively, and taking smart, team-friendly shots. Perryton battled back and tied it up at 22 going into halftime. Our defense continued to play tough throughout the second half. We won the rebounding battle, even though we were really outsized. We did decent shooting free-throws (14-24),” Head Coach Clint Watson said.
Earlier in the week Pampa traveled to Hereford to face the Lady Whitefaces in the first district game after the winter break. It was a low-scoring first quarter with Hereford taking a 9-3 lead after that period. At halftime, Hereford expanded on the lead to 21-19. The lead grew after three quarters to 47-28. The final score was Hereford 57, Pampa 33.
“We played a great first half against Hereford. We limited their outside shooting. In the third quarter, we made a few silly mistakes and Hereford was able to take advantage of it. They got hot and hit four three-point shots and their crowd really got into it. We weren’t able to recover from that, but we continued to fight and play hard. I’m proud of the fight the girls showed. Hereford wants to shoot three-ball a lot and we were able to limit that. We held them to five made three-pointers (that is well below their average),” Watson said.
The Lady Harvesters finally got the goose egg off their district win column record with the Perryton victory. What did Coach Watson think about that?
“It was nice to finally get a district win. It helps all of our confidence to see our hard work paying off. We were playing well in spurts but to finally have it come for a full game is nice. We need to carry this momentum into next week. We have a couple of crucial games. Go to Randall and home against Dumas. By winning one or both, it’ll put us in a good spot heading into the second half of district play. Randall is always a tough place to play. We will need to play with a sense of urgency, but not rushed. They are like us, in the fact that they rely on their guard play. We will need our defense to continue to step up and limit their outside shooting,” Watson said.
The Lady Harvesters will travel to Randall Tuesday for another tough district game (none of them are easy wins) and then host the Dumas Demons on Friday. What are the goals for Friday’s game?
“We need to be super aggressive from the start. Again like us, Dumas is smaller and guard oriented. We need to attack them early and often. This is a game that we need to win to put us in playoff contention,” Watson said.
Tamblynn Moss
Every article, we are going to showcase one player on the team. This week, that player is Junior Guard Tamblynn Moss.

“She has really stepped up since Christmas break. She is playing with a lot of confidence and the team is playing well around her. She does a great job of looking for her teammate, while also being able to lead the team in scoring this week. She led the team with 11 points against Hereford and with 20 against Perryton. On top of the scoring, she is a great rebounder. She pulled down a team high seven rebounds Friday night,” Watson said.
