The Harvester Swim Team hosted their annual Green and Gold Meet. We had guests travel from Canyon, Spearman, and some Alumni came to help us tune up for the end of the swim season.

Michael “Archer” Schroeder was recognized as Pampa’s only senior this year. Archer is the first swimmer who has spent all four years under Coach Day. The meet went as well as it could have.

Due to the weather, not all teams were able to attend the invitational. The lack of attendance did not damper the competition. Several of the events were swam combining the girls and boys together so no one swam by themselves.

The Harvester swim team was able to take first place in all but four individual events. The girls/boys 200-yard freestyle, boys 200-yard individual medley, boys 50-yard freestyle, boys 100-yard butterfly, boys 100-yard freestyle, girls 500 yard freestyle, boys 100-yard backstroke, all had a harvester in 1st place.

The relays were uncontested and solidified the Harvesters as 1st overall. The girls and boys held the line and defended our pool. The Harvester girls were represented by Zayannah Baker, Kimberly Sims, Faith Robles, Emery Lowenstein, and Aria Taylor. Madilyn Paul cheered on from the sideline recovering from an injury. The boys were represented by Juaquin Chavez Badillo, Juan Mendoza, Emmett Flood, Kevin Stagliano, Orion Taylor, and Archer Schroeder.

This meet was a great tune up and a big confidence boost going forward. The district swim meet will be in Lubbock at the Pete Ragus Aquatic Center on January 23rd. The top four in each race will advance to the Regional Swim meet in Andrews for a chance to qualify for the State swim meet in San Antonio. After a great showing today, the Harvester swim team will train for district to see how far the swim season will extend.
