HEREFORD - Senior Dalton Booth scored 30 points as the Pampa Hustlin’ Harvesters (11-5, 2-0) won their second straight road game at Hereford to get off to a 2-0 early District start.
Booth went 14-23 from the field, knocked in five treys, and was 7-8 in free throws to lead both teams in scoring (the next closest was 15 points from Hereford’s Brix Machen). Booth tacked on six rebounds, two assists, three deflections, and three steals in the performance.
“Dalton carried us offensively in the first half,” Head Coach Braydon Barker said. “He was 5-6 from three in the first half, so that was very big for us. We have been asking Dalton to be more aggressive on the offensive end, and he definitely did that against Hereford.

The Harvesters’ stout defense in the second and third quarters held the Whitefaces to 21 points in the second and third quarters.
“It is great to start district 2-0 with two road wins,” Barker said. ”Anytime you can win a district game on the road, it is a bonus. Hereford is always a tough place to play, so it was big to go in there and win.”
Senior first-year varsity player Keegan Upton has been a part of the Harvesters’ off the bench this season. He added four points, two rebounds, and a deflection Tuesday.
“Keegan always plays with so much energy and effort,” Barker said. “He runs the floor better than anyone I have coached in a long time. He is able to get us some easy baskets in transition due to always sprinting to the rim.”

The Harvesters will host Perryton for their first home district game Friday at McNeely Fieldhouse.
“Perryton is the smallest team in our district as far as size goes,” Barker said. “They shoot a ton of threes and try to pressure on defense. We are going to have to know where their shooters are no matter what defense we are in. Our size should hopefully give them some trouble in the paint.”
