The Pampa Harvester Boy’s Soccer Team headed to Sulphur Springs to close out winter break with a tournament.

The team had a solid tournament and gained valuable experience throughout the weekend. With a new head coach overseeing the host school’s soccer program, several traditionally stronger teams were unable to attend, which also impacted the usual tournament awards. Despite that, the level of competition closely mirrored what the Harvesters expect to face in district play, making it a productive opportunity for growth.

The opening matches showed the team’s ability to compete together as chemistry continues to develop. Against Tyler Chapel Hill, the Harvesters generated approximately 15 shots but were unable to convert. Goalkeeper Junior Alex Britten delivered a standout performance, making two crucial saves that kept the team in the match and provided a boost of confidence. In the match against Henderson, the team recorded 25 shots, with two resulting in goals. The final game against Brownsboro, a young but competitive program, saw the Harvesters take 38 shots and score six goals.

Overall, the tournament highlighted the team’s aggressive offensive approach while also revealing areas for improvement in finishing and shot precision. The Harvesters return to action Tuesday against Amarillo High before competing in the WTAMU Freeze Tournament next weekend, where they will face strong programs such as Caprock and Canutillo from El Paso. The team remains focused and motivated as district play approaches.
