The Harvester swim team competed in their largest meet of the year at the Andrews Invitational on January 2nd and 3rd. This two-day meet was run as a championship meet with Prelims and Finals and had over 350 total swimmers from Texas and New Mexico. Everyone swam in the preliminaries and the top 24 of each race competed in the Finals for team points, medals, and ribbons. Here’s how our Harvesters did:
Our girls team had several that qualified for Finals from their Prelims performances. Emery Lowenstein qualified in the 200-yard Freestyle placing 18th and the 100-yard Freestyle placing 16th. Madilyn Paul qualified in the 50 yard Freestyle placing 11th and the 100-yard freestyle placing 20th. Aria Taylor qualified in the 200-yard Individual Medley placing 20th. All the relays were swam in finals and the results will be mentioned later.
For the boys, they had two boys qualify in the prelims. Archer Schroeder qualified with a 7th place finish in the 100-yard Butterfly and in the 50-yard Freestyle placing 10th. Orion Taylor also qualified for Finals placing 24th in the 200-yard Individual Medley. The boys relays also swam in finals.
For finals, the ladies had many personal bests with the results as follows. Emery Lowenstein moved down two spots to finish 20th in the 200-yard Freestyle. She was able to move up 1 spot and finish 15th in the 100-yard Freestyle. Madilyn Paul moved down to 15th from 11th in the 50 yard Freestyle and moved down from 20 to 21st in the 100-yard Freestyle. Aria Taylor maintained her 20th position and set a new personal best for the 200-yard Individual Medley.
The girls Relays all finished in the top 24. In the 200 yard Medley Relay, we finished in 14th place comprised of Aria Taylor, Zayannah Baker, Madilyn Paul, and Kimberly Sims. The 200-yard Freestyle Relay finished in 18th place with Aria Taylor, Kimberly Sims, Faith Robles, and Emery Lowenstein. The girls 400-yard Freestyle Relay won their heat and finished 15th overall. The 400-yard Freestyle Relay had Madilyn Paul, Faith Robles, Zayannah Baker, and Emery Lowenstein. This brought their point totals up to put the Harvester Girls Swim Team in 13th place as a team.
In the finals for the boys, Archer Schroeder was able to maintain his positions finishing 7th in the 100 yard Butterfly and 10th in the 50-yard Freestyle. Orion Taylor was able to move up from 24th to 23rd in the 200 yard Individual Medley. The relays all finished in the top 24. The 200-yard Medley Relay finished 22nd with Kevin Stagliano, Juaquin Chavez Badillo, Emmett Flood, and Juan Mendoza. The 200-yard Freestyle Relay finished 21st with Orion Taylor, Kevin Stagliano, Juaquin Chavez Badillo, and Archer Schroeder. At the end of the meet, the boys 400-yard Freestyle Relay finished 18th with Orion Taylor, Juan Mendoza, Emmett Flood, and Archer Schroeder. The boys point totals placed them 15th overall.
The Harvester Swim team ends their non-district meets with the Green and Gold on Saturday January 10th at the Pampa Youth and Community Center. The swim meet starts at 9 am and will end at noon. This will be the last meet before the District Swim meet to determine our path to the state championship.
