The Pampa Lady Harvesters (1-1) take the field for the first time in 2026 on Tuesday when they travel to Andrews. The Lady Harvesters finished December with a 2-1 win over Lubbock-Estacado, but fell to Palo Duro 2-1.

Head Coach Brennen McGinty said he loves the fight the Lady Harvesters have shown in this young season.

“I’ve loved seeing the fight the girls have,” McGinty said. “Palo Duro scored on us, despite feeling like we controlled the entire first half. We had a goal overturned but the girls never backed down. We battled until the final horn sounded. That will do us well moving forward.”

McGinty said the Lady Harvesters still get caught “watching” the game as it happens and is encouraging the girls to not get stunned when there is a mistake.

“The biggest area we need to improve is our off ball movement,” McGinty said. “We still get caught ball watching sometimes and it's cost us when teams capitalize on those mistakes. We have to be active participants not spectators.”

Juniors Kaylee Gamez and Aaliyah Acosta have become integral pieces on the Lady Harvesters.

“Kaylee Gamez has been vital to our team,” McGinty said. “She's extremely talented and has excelled in multiple spots for us. She sees the field well and consistently sets her teammates up for success. Her contributions can't be overstated enough.

“Aliyah Acosta has stepped up as a leader for the team. She has willingly moved from CAM to Wing to make the team better. She has pushed herself every day in practice and it shows in the game. Her development has led to us generating more scoring chances than we've had in the past.”

The Lady Harvesters return to action Tuesday when they travel to Andrews before

going to Wichita Falls this weekend where they will play some larger schools to prepare for District.

“Andrews is a great opportunity for us to generate momentum before we head to Wichita Falls,” McGinty said.

“It's an unfamiliar opponent so we can go in with zero preconceived notions and just play. Wichita Falls will allow us to play some higher classification opponents and a possible playoff opponent in Graham. The tournament will allow us to identify the areas we need to get ironed out before we kick off district play.”
