The Pampa Hustlin’ Harvesters (7-4) traveled to Amarillo on Tuesday for one final tune-up game against River Road with a District game at Borger looming after the weekend.
A tune-up game it was, indeed, as the Harvesters knocked off River Road 84-34.
“I was proud of the way we came out and took care of business,” Head Coach Braydon Barker said. “It was a little bit of a "let down" spot for us coming off a good tournament and starting district next week. The guys came out focused and ready to play.”
The Harvesters scored 58 of those points in the paint, had 15 second-chance points and out-rebounded River Road 39-22 in the win.
“We have rebounded well at year, but this was by far the most points in the paint we have had in a game this season,” Barker said. “Our post players really dominated this game inside. Parker (Webb, senior), Tristan (Bagwell, senior), and Keegan (Upton, senior) all had great games finishing in the paint, and our guards did a great job of finding those guys posting up.”
Sophomore Aaron Martinez had 10 points in the match-up and has been a great sixth man on the squad.

“Aaron is the youngest player on our team, but he is really improving and getting more comfortable every game,” Barker said. “He is a good-sized guard that finishes really well around the rim. It is nice to bring a guard off the bench that can score like he can.”
The Harvesters start district play at Borger on Tuesday, Dec. 22 before going to the Gruver Tournament the weekend of Dec. 29-30. Their next home game will be their third district game when they host Perryton on Jan. 9, 2026.
“It is always tough to go on the road and play any district game, especially Borger,” Barker said. “Borger has struggled the last couple of years, and actually just made a coaching change last weekend. They could be doing some different stuff than we have seen on film with a new coach, so we will have to adapt during the game to what they are doing.”
“As long as we keep playing defense like we have the last few weeks, we should be able to apply our pressure and cause turnovers.
