The Pampa Harvesters (0-3) fell to the Plainview Bulldogs 84-64 on Monday ahead of a short break for Thanksgiving.

The Harvesters’ strongest period in the game came when they outscored Plainview 16-15 in the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs' offensive showing in the first half, where they outscored Pampa 49-29, was the difference in the game.

“Plainview shot lights out from the perimeter,” Barker said. “They made 15 threes, so it's tough to beat anyone that shoots that well from the outside. It didn't matter what defense we were in; they were knocking down shots.”

Despite the 0-3 start, Barker said the Harvesters have improved on offense in each game.

“We have definitely improved each game offensively,” Barker said. “0-3 is not the way we wanted to start, but we have also played some tough competition. These games are to prepare us for tough district opponents, so I feel like we have the athleticism that we will see in district.”

Dalton Booth and Tristan Booth will be the two seniors highlighted in this article. Booth had 19 points against Plainview.

“Dalton Booth had 19 points against Plainview,” Barker said. “He is our best shooter and one of the leaders of our team. He missed the first game due to a calf injury and was not 100 percent healthy against Frenship Memorial.

“He looked much more like himself against Plainview. He is the top returning scorer

from last year, so I am looking forward to seeing what he can accomplish this year.”

As for Bagwell, he had 11 rebounds against Caprock and has been a consistent rebounder early in the season.

“Tristan Bagwell is the middle-man in our zone,” Barker said. “He is a big kid but moves really well for his size. He had 11 rebounds against Caprock and has had at least 6 rebounds in every game so far. His offense is also improving, so we are trying to work the ball inside to him a little more this year.”
