The Pampa Lady Harvesters (18-14, 4-8) ended their losing streak on Saturday afternoon when they hosted Perryton for a Senior Day sweep (25-19, 25-21, 25-20) to give Seniors Hope Scribner, Jolie Groomer and Karina Gonzalez the send-off with sweet victory.

“I think it being senior day and knowing only had that match plus one left at home motivated the girls to get the win on their home court,” Head Coach Abbey Kashwer said.

This group of seniors is the first group to be with Kashwer their entire four-year careers, so as a coach, that makes them just a little more special to their coach.

“This group was my first freshmen group,” Kashwer said. “I have been able to see them grow as volleyball players but more importantly, young women. They are a group that have helped in changing the culture which has given younger volleyball players someone to look up to.”

There are only two matches left in the schedule for the Lady Harvesters, at Randall on Tuesday and home for Dumas on Saturday. Kashwer hopes this win gives the Lady Harvesters the confidence they need to finish on a strong note.

“I hope we play with confidence and even though we will lose some key players in our seniors after the season, we will grow for next year,” Kashwer said. “We will use these matches to continue to grow as LVHB and through our play and the culture.”

The Lady Harvesters continued District play with a road trip to Amarillo where they will take on Randall High School.

“We have to prepare by worrying about our side of the net, keeping them out of system and being aware of where their strong hitters are at on the court at all times,” Kashwer said.
