BORGER—The Pampa Lady Harvesters (17-13, 3-7) fell to Borger in five sets on Saturday at Borger as the Lady Bulldogs avoided a season sweep to their Highway 152 rival.
“During the second round of district, it truly comes down to who wants the win more,” Head Coach Abbey Kashwer said. “Because we all have been going since Aug. 1, and Borger played with that ‘want’ more than we did.”
This District match was vital for the Lady Harvesters, who were seeking a playoff berth.
“There has been some added pressure. We had our fate of going to playoffs in our own hands going into the second round of district,” Kashwer said. “Now, there are a lot of different things that have to fall into place for that opportunity to make it to the postseason.”
The Lady Harvesters will continue their two-game road trip Tuesday when they travel to Hereford. The last time the Lady Harvesters faced the Lady Whitefaces, it resulted in a reverse sweep that propelled the Lady Harvesters to their first win over Hereford in more than 10 years.
“The girls can repeat this win by knowing it is a new match,” Kashwer said. “Playing hard and using the scouting report from the first matchup to be successful in this one.”
