The Pampa Lady Harvesters (17-9, 3-3) had their three-game winning streak snapped on Saturday when they hosted the Randall Lady Raiders in what was a sweep (21-25, 18-25, 17-25) by the District 4-4A leaders.

Head Coach Abbey Kashwer said the Lady Harvesters will grow from the loss and move on to Tuesday’s opponent, Dumas, as they wrap up the first round of District play.

“After the match, we talked about growing from the loss and playing at the standard we set for ourselves early in the season,” Kashwer said. “We have to learn from our mistakes against Randall, move on because the match is done and over with, and prepare for Dumas.”

One of the Lady Harvesters’ sophomores, Kinley Duke, had two kills and an assist in the game.

“Kinley is a very coachable and hard-working kid,” Kashwer said. “She is an undersized hitter and still gets kills by picking apart defenses. She is growing in all aspects of her game and will play any position on the court with full effort.”

The Lady Harvesters sit in a three-way tie at 3-3 with Dumas and Hereford, with the former two tied for the fourth seed in District. That makes Tuesday’s match at Dumas pivotal for seeding.

“Going into the Dumas match, we are both tied at fourth in the district,” Kashwer said. “So it is a huge match for seeding before going into the second round of district play; and it would give huge momentum going into the Canyon match on Saturday.”
