All Pampa ISD professional staff will show technology proficiency in four of the following areas by June 30, 2010.

  • Outlook/Internet - Mandatory
  • Microsoft Word - Mandatory
  • Microsoft PowerPoint - Mandatory
  • Microsoft Publisher - Choose one of these two
  • Excel - Choose one of these two

The timeline is:

  • Word and E-mail/Internet certification must be completed by June 30, 2009.
  • PowerPoint and either Excel or Publisher must be completed by June 30, 2010.
  • Workshops, teaching skills aimed at the proficiencies, will be offered throughout the school year and summer.
  • No one has to attend any workshops if they feel they already have the skills.
  • Other technology classes besides Word and Outlook will be offered, as needed, for those already possessing those skills.
  • The deadline for completion is June 30, 2010.

Method for submitting documents for proficiency approval:

  • Proficiency submissions may begin anytime after you receive Office 2007 (sometime during the latter part of the summer).
  • Each document submitted must address all proficiencies for that software.
  • Since E-mail/Internet is "action" oriented, all examples will be by tutorial...link at top of page. Submissions will be actual e-mails to and from Lee Carter showing proficiency.
  • Documents for all other proficiencies will be submitted, as attachments, to proficiencies@pampaisd.net .
  • Select members of the Proficiencies Committee will approve or disapprove each proficiency.

Incentives

  • A license for Inspiration or Kidspiration Software or a Digital Camera for the classroom.
  • Any campus that has 100% of professional staff complete the proficiencies by June 2009 will receive a Portable WhiteBoard and Projector setup for the campus.

Consequences - Any staff not certified by the deadline will be put on a growth plan with required attendance at appropriate workshops.
