Biography

I am a native Texan and proud of it. I graduated from Denver City High School in 1975. West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas was home for four years before graduating in 1979 with a B.S. degree in Education. I had a Generic Special Education endosement, one of the first to be earned at WTSU. I then moved to Pampa, Texas to begin my teaching career at Baker Elementary as a teacher in the EMR (self-contained special education) class. As I taught, I went back to WTSU and earned a M.S. degree as a reading specialist in 1989. I have taught my entire career in Pampa. At Baker Elementary I taught the self-contained Sp. Ed. class for 11 years, 4th grade for 3 years, resource room for 2 years and reading recovery for 3 years. When Baker Elementary was closed, I moved to Pampa Middle School as an inclusion teacher. While at PMS, I took the state test and became certified to teach ESL (English as a Second Language). I taught ESL for 4 years at the Middle School. Then in 2004, I moved to Lamar Elementary and Travis Elementary to continue teaching ESL (now called ELL - English Language Learner). I love teaching, especially teaching your child.
