Biography

I have been with the district for 15 years.

especially rock oldies. My favorite Friday evening activity is to have a great dinner with my family and then watch a good movie together. I am a co-sponsor of the National Junior Honor Society and also sponsor the CIA (Christians In Action) Bible Study here at Bush.

I graduated from the University of Texas and received my masters degree at UTSA. I have taught in Austin, at Olmos Elementary in North East ISD, and at Rudder Middle School in Northside ISD. Bush Middle School is a wonderful place to be. My desire is to help you, my poetry students, to experience and write wonderful poetry. I want my reading students to enjoy some great novels this semester, as well as perfect their skills in reading to learn. We will learn many things from each other this semester. Feel free to email or call me if you have any questions.

All students in reading classes receive a gold Overview sheet each quarter with my grading policy, assignments, test information and extra credit opportunities. I will give you a blue assignment sheet so that you may record all assignments and grades. I also distibute frequent handouts that explain procedures and assignments in detail. All notes and class handouts should be kept in the reading section of your binder. Agendas are printed up weekly so you can always see what we have done each day. You are responsible for any make-up work after an absence, so be aware of my class routines. I will always be available for help and to answer questions. Feel free to email me as well.
All poetry students received an information letter at the beginnning of the semester, as well as a blue assignment sheet for recording assignments and grades. In addition, a table of contents detailing the information, notes, and handouts to be maintained in the Poetry Notebook is distributed at the beginning of the semester. Please be familiar with the information on those pages, as well as in the previous paragraph regarding agendas and make-up work. Separate handouts will be distributed for projects. Feel free to email me or come by my room for clarification or help. This is a very demanding class, but it is also a very rewarding one. You will be proud of what you accomplish this semester. So will I!!
