District Goals For 2007-2008
1. The District will improve the following scores:
- LEP and economically disadvantaged students as measured by 2008 TAKS
- The commended performance on TAKS
- The participation of economically disadvantaged and Hispanic students participation in Pre-AP and AP classes
- AP students achieving at nation / stage averages on AP exams.
- African American students in mathematics as measured by 2008 TAKS
2. Through the implementation of effective teaching strategies the District will improve in the following
areas:
- Increase in student and teacher attendance.
- Decrease in student discipline referrals.
- Correlation between TAKS performance and grading practices
- Increase in parents responding to school surveys with an increase in satisfaction
- Improve the District’s proportion of racial and ethnic students in special education
3. PLC effectiveness will be measured by the administration of at least three formative common
assessments by each team.
